E-library opened in KGH
 

VISAKHAPATNAM: An e-library to benefit the post-graduate students of Department of Orthopaedics of King George Hospital and Andhra Medical College, was opened on the department premises at KGH on Saturday.
KGH Superintendent M.V.R.J. Somayajulu and AMC Principal G. Bhagya Rao inaugurated the e-library named after a reputed orthopaedician and former head of the department C. Vyaghreswarudu.
A former student of the late Dr. Vyaghreswarudu, Jayanthi V. Subba Rao, who is now living in the US, donated Rs. 2.25 lakhs for renovation of the building and for providing computer systems. The funds were transferred through AMCANA-the association of Alumni living in the US.
Dr. Somayajulu released Rs. 25,000 from the Arogya Sri funds.
A pharmaceutical company would take care of the maintenance of the e-library. Former students of Dr. Vyaghreswarudu said that they had established a library 40 years ago to mark the retirement of their teacher and were glad to see that e-library was provided now.
Seven students could use the five systems simultaneously and they could access all latest information and download all the orthopaedic journals, said professor of orthopaedics B. Udaya Kumar.
HoD of Orthopaedics S. David Raju presided. Noted orthopaedician S.V. Adinarayana Rao, Deputy Superintendent P. Shyam Prasad and P.P. Srinivasa Murthy, Head of Neurology Department K. Venkateswarlu, senior orthopaedician Raghava Rao, professors of orthopaedics M. Eswara Babu and P. Ashok Kumar, Head of SPM Krishna Babu, professor B.D. Madhavi and others were present
