VISAKHAPATNAM: Collector J. Syamala Rao, during a surprise visit to King George Hospital on Tuesday, wanted the authorities to improve conditions in the wards, supply of medicines and food to patients. He found some beds without bedsheets in the Bhavnagar ward, sanitary staff cleaning the toilets and bathrooms in the S-5ward at 10 a.m. which they should have done at 6 a.m. and the doctors giving prescriptions for medicines without their names. Mr. Syamala Rao inquired with the patients about the treatment they were receiving and food served to them. He asked RDO Prabhakar Rao to inquire into the reasons for the doctors asking patients to buy medicines from shops outside the KGH when they were available on the hospital premises. KGH Superintendent M.V.R.J. Somayajulu accompanied Mr. Syamala Rao.
