Heart and Hand For the Handicapped Dinner Honoring Sunkara Adinarayana Rao

One of the organizations supported by HHH is the PREMA Hospital managed by Free Polio Surgical & Research Foundation, in India. At this hospital, about 1,200 patients are examined and treated every month, and on an average 12,000 people are operated free of cost every year. In addition, free polio surgical camps are conducted where approximately 6,000 people are treated. So far, nearly 752 such camps have been conducted, and last year alone, 39 free polio surgical camps and 39 review camps have been conducted. A representative from this organization Dr. S. V. Adinarayana Rao will be attending the banquet.

Dr. Rao is well known for his innovative corrective surgeries for people with deformities of the limbs secondary to the post polio residual paralysis, cerebral palsy and other congenital conditions like club foot, etc. Dr. Rao is the recipient of various community and Government of India awards.

One of Dr. Rao’s patients Mr. Atul Bhatara from New York, a long time supporter of HHH was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at birth. He was operated on eight times before he was treated by Dr. Rao, which was the most effective. There is a remarkable improvement in Mr. Bhatara because of Dr. Rao’s innovative corrective surgery. Dr Rao’s surgeries are always free of cost.

Please join HHH and Mr. Bhatara to support and celebrate Dr. Rao’s charitable work on September 12, 2009 at 6.30 pm at the Worlds Fair Marina Restaurant, Flushing, NY.
