Greetings,
I had a productive visit at Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.
At Hyderabad I visited the EMRI ( Emergency Medical Research Institute) in Jeedimetla.
I had a meeting with Mr Anil Jampala and he showed me the DIAL 108 - emergency in Andhra Pradesh. They have presently 30 State of the Art Ambulances some with Cardiac Defibrillator ;
9 for H'Bad area and 4 for V'Patnam. The central facility located in H'Bad at Bhyrraju Foundation facility oversees all the emergency calls from whole of Andhra Pradesh and directs to the nearest Medical Ambulance Services, Fire Station and/or Police Station depending on the type of the need. The Satyam computers CEO-Founder Sri B.Ramalingaraju conceived this idea and facilitating these services. the Ambulance costs Rs 13,00,000 for the Ambulance without Defibrillator and Rs 22,00,000 for one with the defibrillator.
The Idea of getting ONE For Visakhapatnam is very IDEAL with AMCANA Support This facilitates more access to urgent/emergency care and we should invest in one.
I support wholeheartedly your attempt and recommendation to get one.
We should encourage our NEW and Potential Donors towards this.
I also met IV Rao, Deputy Director Medical Education and shared your and my concerns for improving the Hostels, Reading Room and perpetuate computer services. He was very positive and is willing to cooperate with our needs and suggestions
When I went and met Drs Peda Veerraju & Muralikrishna in Visakhapatnam they updated me about the Library Account which may last another 10 months to support the Computer Services.
I gave them the check for $ 25,000 towards Neurocon Meeting $ 1,000,
Dr S.Balaparameswara Rao Library $ 5,000 and $ 19,000 towards upgrading
the Hostels and other common facilities as per AMCANA Members' request.
Dr. Pedaveerraju will be visiting Los Angeles on May 21,2006. May be we can have a meeting Update and Fund Raising there.
Please let me know about this.
We should all support these ideas and projects to facilitate furthering the medical care to the needy.
